How an annual test works
Book it in
Call or send through your device details and due date. We will book a time that suits your trading hours and keep any water shut-off to a minimum.
Test & report
We test the device with calibrated gauges, check the valves hold, and record the readings. If it fails, we explain why and quote any repair or replacement before going ahead.
Certificate lodged
Once it passes, we complete the test report, lodge the compliance certificate with your water authority, and send you a copy for your records.

Why do I need a backflow prevention device tested every year?
Testable backflow devices have internal valves and springs that can wear or stick over time. Your water authority requires registered devices to be tested annually by a licensed, endorsed plumber to confirm they still stop contaminated water flowing back into the drinking supply. We test it, log the result and lodge the certificate so you stay compliant.
Who needs backflow prevention — is it just commercial properties?
It applies to any property with a cross-connection hazard. That covers most commercial and industrial sites, schools, childcare centres, medical and dental rooms, food premises, irrigation systems, fire services and properties with rainwater tanks plumbed to the mains. High and medium-hazard connections need a registered testable device; we can assess what your site requires.
What happens if my backflow device fails the test?
If a device fails, we will tell you on the spot and explain why. Many failures are a worn valve or seal that we can repair or service to bring it back into compliance, sometimes the same visit. If the device is past it, we will quote a like-for-like replacement so your certificate can be issued.
Do you handle the council and water authority paperwork?
