Burst & Leaking Pipe Repairs in Berwick & the South East

Water going where it shouldn't? Stop the flow at the meter, then call us — we repair burst and leaking pipes fast, before they wreck your home.

A burst pipe is one of the few plumbing problems that gets worse by the minute. Whether it's a split copper line under the kitchen, a cracked poly pipe in the wall, or an old galvanised main weeping behind the laundry, water finds the timber, the plaster and the carpet long before it finds the floor waste. The faster the water is stopped and the pipe is repaired, the smaller the bill — both ours and the damage to your home.

Borza Plumbing handles burst and leaking pipes for homes, rentals and small commercial sites right across Berwick, Pakenham, Narre Warren, Officer, Clyde and the wider South East. We turn up, find exactly where the water is escaping, isolate it, and make a proper repair — not a patch that lets go again next winter.

Stop the water first

Before we even arrive, you can take the heat out of the situation by isolating the water at your meter. Most South East homes have a mains shut-off tap in a box near the front boundary — turn it clockwise until it stops and the whole house is off. If you know the leak is on a hot water line, switch the hot water unit off too. Then it's just a matter of getting us out to repair it.

How to isolate the water at the meter

A burst pipe doesn't wait for the plumber. Here's how to stop it pouring while help is on the way.

Find the meter

Look for a black or green box near your front fence or footpath. Lift the lid — the water meter and a shut-off tap are inside.

Turn it off

Turn the tap beside the meter clockwise until it stops. That isolates water to the whole house and the flow should slow to a stop.

Call us

Ring 0431 140 988. Mop up what you can, move valuables clear, and we'll get out to repair the pipe properly.

Worth doing today: find your meter and shut-off tap before you ever need them. Ask us anything while we're on site.

Copper, poly or galvanised?

Signs you've got a leak

Bills creeping up

A water bill climbing for no reason is one of the clearest signs of a hidden leak running day and night.

Damp patches & mould

Staining on walls or ceilings, peeling paint, or a musty smell often means water is escaping out of sight.

Meter still ticking

Turn every tap off and check the meter — if it's still moving, water is escaping somewhere in the system.

Burst & leaking pipe FAQs

A pipe has burst — what do I do first?

Turn off the water at your meter straight away. The mains tap is usually in a black or green box near your front fence or boundary — turn it clockwise until it stops. Then switch off your hot water unit if the leak is on a hot line, mop up what you can, and call us on 0431 140 988. Stopping the flow early is the single biggest thing you can do to limit damage.

Where is my water meter shut-off valve?

In most South East homes the water meter sits in a box at the front of the property, near the footpath or fence line. There is a tap right beside the meter — turn it fully clockwise to isolate the whole house. It is worth finding yours now, before an emergency, so you are not hunting for it with water pouring through the ceiling.

Can you find a leak hidden in a wall or under the slab?

Yes. Not every leak is in plain sight — many show up as a damp patch, a musty smell, a warm spot on the floor or a water bill that keeps climbing. We use leak detection to pinpoint hidden leaks in walls and under concrete slabs so we can open up the smallest possible area to make the repair.
