Burst & Leaking Pipes
Fast repair of burst, leaking and corroded pipes before they wreck your home.
Learn more →Slow sink, gurgling toilet or water backing up in the yard? We clear blocked drains fast — and find why they keep blocking.
A blocked drain has a way of picking the worst moment — the kitchen sink banking up mid dinner, a shower that won't drain, or the gurgle and smell of a sewer backing up. Borza Plumbing clears blocked drains across Berwick, Pakenham, Narre Warren, Officer and the wider South East, and we don't stop at a quick clear. If a drain keeps blocking, there's a reason, and we'll find it.
We handle the lot — blocked kitchen and bathroom sinks, showers, toilets, floor wastes, sewer lines and stormwater drains — for homes, rentals and small commercial sites. For a one-off blockage a clear is often all you need. For a drain that's blocked before and will again, we use the right gear to get to the bottom of it rather than charging you to clear the same line every few months.
Most blockages come down to a handful of usual suspects. Tree roots are the big one in established suburbs — they sense moisture and grow in through tiny cracks and pipe joints until they choke the line. Grease and fat from the kitchen cool, set hard and trap everything that follows. Wet wipes (even the "flushable" kind), nappies and sanitary products don't break down and snag in bends. And foreign objects — a kid's toy, a cloth, garden soil washing into a stormwater pit — do the rest.
We match the method to the problem instead of forcing one tool to do every job.
| Method | What it's for | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Electric drain machine | Cutting through roots and clearing a solid blockage | A spinning cable that bores through the obstruction |
| High-pressure water jetting | Scouring grease, sludge and fine roots from the full pipe | Cleans the whole diameter, not just a hole through the middle |
| CCTV drain camera | Finding the real cause of a recurring blockage | Shows cracks, sags, roots and exactly how far down they are |
| Locating & report | Planning a permanent repair when the pipe is damaged | Pinpoints the spot so any dig is small and targeted |
Not sure how bad it is? Tell us the symptoms and we'll bring the right gear the first time.
They're two different systems, and the fix is different too — here's how to tell them apart.
Several fixtures slow at once, a toilet that gurgles or bubbles when the shower runs, waste backing up at the lowest drain, and a sewer smell around the gully. This is the waste line from your toilets, sinks and showers — and it needs sorting quickly before it overflows.
Pits and downpipes overflowing during rain, water pooling against the house or in the yard, and gutters that back up even when they look clear. Stormwater carries rainwater off your roof and property — a blockage here turns a heavy shower into a flooding risk.
Roof and gutter overflow is often part of the story — see roof, gutter & stormwater.
A line that blocks every few months has a cause — usually roots, a sag or a cracked joint. Clearing it again just resets the clock.
A CCTV camera shows the exact fault and location, so you're paying for a real fix instead of another temporary clear.
If the pipe is sound we clear and move on. If it's broken, we'll show you the footage and quote the repair honestly.

Recurring blockages almost always have a root cause — tree roots growing in through a cracked joint, a sagging or partly collapsed section of pipe, or a build-up of grease and debris that never fully clears. A quick clear only buys time; a CCTV camera shows us what is really going on so we can fix it properly.
Yes. For anything stubborn or recurring we run a CCTV drain camera through the line to pinpoint exactly where and what the blockage is — roots, a crack, a sag or a foreign object — and how far down it sits. You see the same footage we do, so you know the recommendation is genuine.
They are two separate systems. Sewer drains carry waste from toilets, sinks and showers; stormwater drains carry rainwater from roofs, gutters and the yard. The symptoms differ — gurgling toilets and bad smells point to sewer, while overflowing pits and pooling water after rain point to stormwater. We work out which one it is before we start.
No — jetting is safe for sound pipework and is far more thorough than a basic rod or plunger. It scours the full diameter of the pipe and flushes out roots, grease and sludge. If the camera shows a pipe is already cracked or collapsed, we will tell you, because no amount of jetting fixes broken pipe.
